MedFlow Electronic Medical Records
MedFlow's medical record is shared by every department, so a patient registered at reception is the same patient the doctor, pharmacist, laboratory scientist and cashier are working with.
What clinicians get
- Patient registration with validated demographics, consent capture and insurance details
- Find an existing patient quickly using their name, medical-record number, telephone number, national ID or insurance information — reducing duplicate records and registration delays
- Doctor and nurse workspaces with clinical notes, assessments, vital signs and problem lists
- Electronic prescribing with allergy and interaction checks
- Laboratory and imaging orders with result acknowledgement tracking
- Ward, theatre, emergency and intensive care documentation
- Specialty clinic workspaces and telemedicine consultations
- Patient portal access to appointments, results and messages
Record integrity
- Clinical records are retained rather than deleted, with amendment history
- Every access to a patient record is recorded in an audit trail
- Emergency access requires a stated justification and is reviewable afterwards
Capability status
- Unified patient record — One record shared by all departments and facilities. (implemented)
- Clinical documentation — Notes, assessments, vitals, problems, allergies and medications. (implemented)
- Prescribing safety checks — Allergy and interaction warnings at the point of prescribing. (implemented)
- Specialty workspaces — Enabled per facility according to the services you provide. (configurable)
- Device and analyser interfaces — Depends on the interfaces exposed by your specific equipment. (planned)
Technical architecture
- Role-based access control is enforced in the database as well as the interface, so a user cannot read records their role does not permit.
- Patient search is indexed for fast partial matching on names, record numbers, telephone numbers, national ID and insurance identifiers.
- All record access is written to an append-only audit log.
