MedFlow FHIR and Interoperability
Interoperability is a requirement, not a feature. MedFlow exposes standards-based interfaces so patient demographics, observations and results can move between your hospital and the systems around it.
Standards supported
- FHIR R4 resources for patient demographics, observations and laboratory results, where implemented and tested
- HL7 v2 inbound messaging with validation of segments and mappings before processing
- Terminology and concept mapping with version history and rollback
- DICOM-compatible imaging workflows
- An interoperability audit log recording every exchange attempt, its status and the user responsible
Governance
- Exchange partners are registered before data can be sent or received
- Patient consent directives are recorded and enforced for sharing
- Endpoints, scopes and sync schedules are configured per facility by an administrator
Technical architecture
- Outbound synchronisation uses a queued, retryable job model so a partner outage does not lose messages.
- Inbound messages are validated and quarantined on failure rather than partially applied.
