MedFlow Implementation and Data Migration
MedFlow implementations follow a defined sequence with named responsibilities on both sides. Timelines depend on the number of facilities, the modules selected and the state of your existing data.
The six stages
- 1. Discovery and workflow assessment
- 2. Solution configuration
- 3. Data preparation and migration
- 4. Integration and user acceptance testing
- 5. Training and go-live
- 6. Post-go-live support and optimisation
Data migration
- We assess the source data before committing to a migration scope
- Patient identifiers, demographics, encounters, tariffs, stock and balances are mapped explicitly
- Migrated records are reconciled and signed off before go-live
- Where source data is incomplete, we agree what will and will not be migrated rather than inventing values
What we need from you
- A project sponsor and clinical, finance and ICT leads
- Access to existing data extracts and any systems to be integrated
- Staff availability for configuration review, testing and training
- Decisions on tariffs, formulary, roles and reporting requirements
Frequently asked questions
- How long does implementation take? It depends on scope. A single clinic with core modules is a short project; a multi-facility hospital group with migrations and integrations is a phased programme. We give an indicative schedule after discovery, not before.
- Can our existing data be migrated? Usually, in part. It depends on the format and quality of your current records. We assess extracts first and agree an explicit migration scope.
